Anya Katsevman - New York

Anya Katsevman has starred in the touring shows of Dancing with the Stars and Burn the Floor, she has performed for U.S. President Barack Obama and performed with El Gran Combo at Madison Square Gardens. Anya is an undefeated 2-time World Salsa Champion On2 and judges many International Salsa Championships.

Billy Fajardo - Miami

Billy Fajardo been performing for over 40 years. He has performed with Salsa legends including Tito Puente, Celia Cruz and Marc Anthony. Billy has performed around the world, at the prestigious Blackpool Dance Festival, Madison Square Gardens, the Super Bowl, and Broadway. He is a World Cabaret Champion, World Latin Hustle Champion, Head Judge for the ESPN World Salsa Championships and an organizer of the World Salsa Summit.

Eric Caty - Canada

Eric Caty has represented Canada at many World Championships. Eric is a featured choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance CANADA, and was a featured dancer on the DANCING WITH THE STARS tour stop in Calgary. Eric is a former Open North American Ten-Dance Champion, and has traveled the world competing at some of the world’s most prestigious dance events including the Ohio Star Ball and the Blackpool Dance Festival. Eric coaches many top professional and amateur couples including some national and World Champions. Eric is the co-director of Salsa Rica Dance Company, the co-producer of the Calgary International Salsa Congress, Edmonton Ballroom and Salsa Gala, and is a certified International Standard (Ballroom) and Latin adjudicator.

Gaby Equiz - Mexico

Gaby Equiz is a World Champion, Judge, Coach, TedXTalk Speaker, Choreographer and Engineer.
Gaby is the director of Alma Latina, one of the most prestigious Salsa and Bachata companies in the world with franchises around the globe. She has danced with some of the worlds top artists including the tours for Britney Spears and NSYNC.

Harold Rancano - Canada

Harold Rancano is a 9-time World Bachata Champion and has been a featured dancer on America’s Got Talent. He is co-director of RHR Latin Dance Company and Dance World. Harold is a performer, choreographer, judge and instructor. Harold coaches dancers and teams around the world, and has performed in Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, USA, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Canada.

Jennifer Aucoin - Canada

Jennifer Aucoin is the founder and organizer of the Canada Salsa and Bachata Congress, Canada’s largest, and longest running salsa congress and is the owner of Steps Dance Studio in Toronto, Canada. Jennifer has travelled to close to 100 salsa congresses as a judge and instructor. Jennifer has judged many World Championships including ESPN, and the Global Salsa Championships at the World Salsa Summit.

Johnny Vazquez - Italy/Mexico

Johnny Vazquez is a legendary figure in the Salsa community known as El Principe De La Salsa -The Prince of Salsa. Johnny is one on the famed Vazquez brothers, credited with creating the LA Style of Salsa. Winner of many world Championships, Choreographer, Instructor, and International Recording artist Johnny is considered one of the greatest salsa dancers in the world.

Kelly Lannan - Canada

Kelly Lannan has been a featured choreographer on So You Think You Can Dance CANADA and has danced on the local tour stop of Dancing With The Stars.
She has been a finalist at many World Championship Salsa events including the ESPN World Salsa Championships, World Latin Dance Cup, and the Mayan World Salsa Championships.
Kelly is a judge of many international Salsa events including the Global Salsa Championships at the World Salsa Summit, and trains many dancers from the student to professional level.
Kelly is proud to be an owner of Alberta Dancesport, Salsa Rica Productions, the Calgary International Salsa Congress, and the Edmonton Ballroom and Salsa Gala.
She has been featured as Emcee at events including the Global Salsa Championships, Canadian Dancesport Championships, and Fiestaval Latin Festival. Kelly is proud to produce events and coordinate competitions in her hometown of Calgary and internationally.

Oliver Pineda - Australia

Oliver Pineda is 10-Time World Salsa Champion, Dancing with the Stars guest performer and choreographer for So You Think You Can Dance. Oliver has competed on ESPN, at the prestigious Blackpool Dance Festival and is the current Las Vegas Ultimate Latin Dance World Champion.
Oliver is a well-known percussionist, playing with many of Sydney’s top Salsa bands, he has achieved a Bachelor of Dance degree, a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, and is the director of the world-renowned Latin Motion Dance Academy. Oliver is a pioneer of Mambo On2 in Australia, and a celebrated world champion for over 20 years.

Regan Hirose - Canada

Regan Hirose is a 9-time World Bachata Champion and has been featured on America’s Got Talent. She is co-director of RHR Latin Dance Company, and Dance World.
Regan coaches dancers and teams around the world, and has performed in Japan, Thailand, New Zealand, USA, Spain, Mexico, Peru, Ecuador, Nicaragua, and Canada.

Rodrigo Cortazar - Spain/Mexico

From Veracruz Mexico, Rodrigo has travelled the globe teaching and performing at Salsa Congresses in Asia, Europe, USA, Canada, Central America, South America, Australia and Africa. Rodrigo specializes in musicality and the evolution of Salsa. He has trained with some of the best dancers in the world including Eddie Torres, Franklin Diaz, Adolfo Indacochea, Juan Matos, Milton Cobo, Jason Molina, Sekou McMiller, Manolo Vasquez, Ivan Valdespino, Alexis Zanetti, Victor and Gaby (salsa con clave), and many more.

Tamara Livolsi - Puerto Rico

Tamara Livolsi is one of the most respected dancers in the world. She has performed, instructed and judged in over 75 cities around the globe. Tamara has been featured in the movies "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights", Yellow, El Cantante: Hector Lavoe y American Gangster. She has worked for artists like: Luis Fonsi, David Bisbal, Manny Manuel, Ednita Nazario, Yuri, Grupo Mania and Wilkins among others, and is an organizer of the Puerto Rico Salsa Congress.

Tito Ortos - Puerto Rico

Tito Ortos is one of the most respected dancers in the world. He has performed, instructed and judged in over 75 cities around the globe. Tito has been featured in the movies "Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights", Yellow, El Cantante: Hector Lavoe y American Gangster. Tito has worked with Gilberto Santa Rosa, Víctor Manuelle, El Gran Combo, Michael Stuart, Tito Nieves, Rubén Blades, Richie Rey y Bobby Cruz, Domingo Quiñones, Ismael Miranda, Elvis Crespo, Cheo Feliciano, Modesto Cepeda, Andy Montañez, NG2, Luis "Perico" Ortiz, Tommy Olivencia, Julio Voltio and Tego Calderón
He is is the Director of the San Juan City Salsa Dance Program, and an organizer of the Puerto Rico Salsa Congress.


Video Submission

All videos have to be submitted by May 29th 2021.

Videos have be shot in landscape (horizontal)
Videos must be shot straight. no angled shots, no entrances and exits. No video editing! (This does not apply to the non-competitive showcase division, or the Open Divisions)

All videos must be submitted via the dropbox link below for your division


GENERAL INFO & RULES FOR VIRTUAL COMPETITION


Length of Routine:
Solo showcases: Maximum 2:15 minutes
Couples Showcases: Maximum 2:30 minutes
Team Showcases: Maximum 3.5 minutes

(This does not apply to the non-competitive showcase division, or the Open Divisions)

DEFINITIONS

Showcase division: The competitor(s) choreograph their own routine to their choice of music.

Amateur Showcase Divisions: Neither dancer has been paid to teach or to perform.

Pro-Am Showcase Division: Consist of one professional dancing with an amateur, only the amateur dancer will be judged.

Open Team Showcase Divisions: Open to all levels and combinations of levels. Dancers can be professional, semi-pro, or amateur or a combination of the three. A team must consist of a minimum of 3 dancers.  No maximum number of dancers.

Amateur Team Showcase Divisions: All dancers must be amateurs. A team must consist of a minimum of 3 dancers, no maximum number of dancers.

Salsa: All styles of Salsa are accepted. Couples can choose to dance either On-1 or On-2 but must maintain consistency to that timing for the duration of the routine.
