Martin Lefèbvre - Calgary

A Montreal Native, Martin Lefebvre is one of Canada’s most popular and charismatic Dancesport coaches. Dancing since the age of nine, he had a successful and colourful career winning a few titles as Quebec Champion, Canadian Champion and North American Amateur Latin Champion. He has also represented Canada many times at various World Championships both as an amateur and professional.

Martin moved to Calgary in 1999 and has been running his own youth dancesport program since. He trains artists and competitors in Ballroom, Latin, Salsa, Country, Swing and Cirque du Soleil. He also works closely with ice dancers and Skate Canada. Aside from coaching, Martin also keeps busy as an event organizer and judge. He is currently focused on a new project to develop a Ballroom Dance Program for kids in the school system.

Benoit Drolet - Edmonton

Originally from Montreal, Canada, Benoit has traveled to over 30 countries competing, demonstrating, lecturing and adjudicating. The competitive side of his career brought some amazing moments, notably making final in Blackpool, and making the final at the European Championship in 1993 representing England, something he is extremely proud of. In 1999, Benoit joined the acclaimed show Burn The Floor and went on touring for over a year throughout Australia, Europe and America. Benoit ran most of the Ballroom rehearsals as well as tweaking choreographies and coaching couples for the show. Accomplishments

Michel Guimond - Vancouver

Canadian Dance Federation certified Ballroom dance instructor since 1975.

Amateur and Professional ballroom competitor for 20 years in Latin American, Ballroom, Rhythm and Smooth divisions.

National and International Ballroom Adjudicator in all styles.

56 years of dance and teaching experience.

National Dance Council of Canada’s director for the past 8 years.

Vancouver Challenge Cup and Sunday Funday co-organizer for the past 10 years.

Been teaching ‘partnering skills’ using ballroom dancing at Capilano University and VanArt College for the Acting for Screen and Television and Musical Theatre programs for the past 15 years.

Kimberly Donaghy - Calgary

Judge

Kimberly has been a Professional Ballroom Dance Instructor since 1980. For 18 of those years she was the Professional Instructor for the University of Calgary Ballroom Dance Club. She also taught dance for the Phys Ed departments at many Senior and Junior High Schools in the City of Calgary.

As a competitor she participated in both American and International Style. Her focus was International Latin where she was a Semi-Finalists at the Canadian Closed Championships. In 2005 she was the World Champion in the Diamond Showcase Division at the World Country and Western Dance Championships in Nashville.

Kim is very involved with adjudicating dance competitions. She is a Certified A+B+C+D+ Adjudicator with the CDF.

As a Dance Consultant she teaches Latin, Ballroom and Country dancing at numerous studios and venues. Her current passions are teaching Zumba(certified), BURLESQUERCISE and most recently LaBlast (certified).


Katerina Michtchenko - Vancouver

Ekaterina has more than thirty years of teaching and competing experience, starting at a young age in Russia. She is a Canadian Champion In the Professional American Smooth Division, Runners-up in the Closed Canadian Professional Latin-American Division and finalist In the World Professional Latin Showcase Championship. Currently, she is the director and coach of “The Fiesta Dancesport Club”, which has produced Canadian finalists in Adult, Youth and Junior, and Junior Latin and Youth 10-dance Champions. Ekaterina also holds Canadian DanceSport Federation Adjudicators Licenses (A+, B+) with the experience of officiating DanceSport competitions in and out of Canada.
